I am Des Moines-native, Sara Albright, and I created Stroll Fit in 2008, when my first son was just 10 months old. Prior to becoming a mother, I was a full-time English teacher and part-time group fitness instructor. After my son was born, I struggled with the "mommy-guilt" of leaving my child in daycare while I worked all day and then extending our time apart by heading to the gym after work. Stroll Fit was the perfect solution to this problem.
I have over ten years of group fitness teaching experience that include the YMCA of Greater Des Moines, Des Moines University, Roosevelt High School, and Stroll Fit. I am nationally certified through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). I am also CPR / First Aid certified, and TRX certified. I have experience teaching cardio kickboxing, strength training / weights-based classes, cardio conditioning, yoga, step aerobics, hi/low floor aerobics, and indoor cycling. I continue to take classes to become better qualified to meet the needs my clients.
When I’m not teaching Stroll Fit, I vary my fitness and enjoy yoga, cycling, running, swimming, teaching step aerobics at the YMCA, weight training, HIIT workouts, participating in running races and triathlons. I also work part-time for Iowa State University in the English Education Department. My children are my full-time job these days; they keep my husband and I very busy and fulfilled. Occasionally, we get a date night!
